I’ve been consuming design of all kinds since I was 16 years old. At the age of 17, I received my very first Apple Powerbook with CS3 pre-installed as a high school graduation present. I spent four amazing years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studying Advertising, Public Relations, English and Visual & Aural Literacy. I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Journalism in Advertising. Due to extenuating circumstances, after graduation I took a position working for my father in Wichita, KS in order to open a new branch in his company’s business expansion. While this meant taking a break from getting started in my Advertising and Design career, it allowed me to gain valuable management experience that I have been able to use ever since. After getting the business opened in Kansas, I moved back to Nebraska to start my Associate of Arts in Graphic Communication and Design program at Metropolitan Community College. It was a profound blessing to be able to go back to school and expand my portfolio, my creative abilities, and also my network of like-minded individuals. If you asked me what my favorite part of going back to school was, I’d tell you that it was the first time in my entire life that I’d ever felt completely comfortable, unafraid, and well-adjusted in a school environment. The ability to focus solely on art, design, and overall beautiful creations was a blessing beyond my wildest dreams. Never before had I been allowed to study exactly what makes my creativity grow.

I spend at least one night of every weekend catching up on my design blog subscriptions, reading PRINTmag.com, snuggling with my three-year-old fur-baby named Booboo, watching movies or sneaking in a few more changes on my current freelance project or my portfolio pieces. At the ripe age of 20, I started designing wedding invitations for friends and family members and I’ve grown increasingly better at giving my clients what they want. I founded bliss paper co. from my college apartment and have been actively seeking out new clients ever since.

I love: cheese of any kind, my family & dear friends, my kitten, Crispin Ciders, football, my high school state football sweatshirt collection, professional hairstyling products, drawing with charcoal, sunshine (particularly the California variety), eating healthy and weightlifting, Victoria’s Secret PINK Perfect Tees (she has 17 in various colors, three of which are white), Tazo Zen Green Tea on ice, country music, the Oxford comma, and chips & salsa.

And last but not least, I love learning about all things design. I eat, sleep, breathe, and intensely love design of all kinds. I will take any information you give me and run with it as far as I can. I am overly-critical of my own design and take extra-special care in making sure my clients are satisfied–whether they’re instructors, bakery owners, or brides. I am always looking for ways to become a better designer, artist, and overall person.

My ultimate dream is to create and recreate Brand Identities for companies of my own choosing. Until then, I’m just enjoying all of the roads that lead me there. Thanks for stopping by.
